01 · Brand Philosophy

The first light is
the first certainty.

Qeino exists to close the gap between the moment a delivery risk becomes knowable and the moment a human is told. The identity is that idea, drawn.

The concept

A complete circle — the engineering organisation, whole and continuous. And a single point of warm light at its rising edge — the first signal, arriving before the rest of the picture is visible.

Light always reaches a curved edge at one point first. The dot sits exactly there. The relationship is the entire mark — there is nothing to remember wrongly, and nothing to date.

Symbolism

Anticipation

The dot does not chase the circle; it precedes the day. Foresight over hindsight, expressed as geometry rather than motion.

Semiotics

Perimeter

An unbroken circle reads as a sealed boundary — the customer's perimeter. The intelligence appears on it, never outside it. Sovereignty, drawn.

Rationale

Inevitability

Two elements in one tangent relationship. It could be arranged no other way — the quality that lets a mark survive a decade without revision.

Meaning

Calm

One warm point on a field of ink. Restraint is the luxury signal. It reads as premium enterprise software, never as consumer AI.

Why it supports the strategy

The strategy holds three layers apart: a moat of sovereign deployment, a parity capability of delivery certainty, and a commercial instrument — the Foresight Ledger. The mark carries all three without illustrating any of them literally.

The circle

The sealed perimeter — deployment by architecture. The moat.

The first light

The earliest signal — delivery certainty before delivery slips. The story.

The single point

One figure that matters, signed and exportable — the Ledger. The proof.

02 · Logo System

One mark, an entire family.

Every lockup descends from the same two elements. Nothing is added; only the arrangement and the colour context change.

03 · Logo Construction

Geometry, not placement.

The mark is built on a 10×10 unit field where one unit equals the stroke. Every relationship is derived; nothing is positioned by eye.

r = 5u 45° dot Ø 2.9u tangent
Construction grid · golden ratio is deliberately absent — the system is modular, not classical
Grid
A 10×10 unit field. One unit (u) equals the stroke weight, so the entire mark scales from a single value.
Geometry
One circle, radius 5u. One dot, externally tangent to the perimeter on the upper-right diagonal. Nothing else exists.
Proportion
Stroke 1u · radius 5u · dot Ø 2.9u. Large enough to command, small enough to belong.
Alignment
Circle centre, tangent point and dot centre are collinear on the 45° diagonal. The relationship is geometric, never placed.
Optical correction
The dot overlaps the stroke by ~0.5px so it reads as truly touching; without it a hairline gap opens at scale.
clear space = dot Ø (2.9u) on every side
Clear space & safe area
14px 32px 64px+

04 · Colour System

Ink, and a single point of light.

A two-colour brand by conviction. Ink carries the system; First Light appears once per view, on the one thing that matters. Everything else is a disciplined neutral.

Newsreader brings considered, editorial calm. Inter does the precise, functional work of the interface. IBM Plex Mono carries data and provenance.

Web alternatives where licensing requires: Newsreader → Georgia; Inter → system-ui / Helvetica Neue; IBM Plex Mono → ui-monospace. The hierarchy survives the substitution.

06 · Graphic Language

Everything is the arc and the point.

The visual language is generated from the mark's own geometry: arcs, tangent points, the diagonal of first contact, and a strict modular grid. No decoration that the logo cannot explain.

Concentric arcs · the perimeter radiating
The 45° diagonal of first contact · grids
The rising signal · data-as-graphic motif
Hero / cover background · the corner arc system. One point of light, far from centre.
Dividers & frames
A framed statement, marked at the corner by first light.
SovereignForesightLedger
Dividers, corner marks, frames & tokens
07 · Icon System

Drawn on the same grid as the mark.

A single icon language: 24px grid, 1.75px stroke, 2px radius on terminals, geometric and quiet. First Light appears only to mark a single active or critical state.

Outline · the default set
Navigation · feature · security · infrastructure
Filled · for active & app states
Same geometry, filled · used sparingly for selected states
Construction

24px live area in a 24px box · 1.75px stroke · round caps and joins · 2px corner radius. Optical, not mechanical, centring.

The accent rule

First Light appears in an icon only to mark one thing — a live signal, a critical alert, a selected item. Never decorative.

Coverage

Navigation, product, feature, security and infrastructure families share one drawing logic so the set always reads as one hand.

08 · Illustration Style

Diagrams, not decoration.

Qeino does not illustrate with characters or metaphor. It draws systems — clean, axonometric, technical line work that explains architecture, data flow and the moment foresight intervenes.

CUSTOMER PERIMETER · AIR-GAPPED Jira GitHub Azure DevOps Foresight engine Foresight Ledger
Technical illustration · architecture diagram

Editorial

Single-concept line drawings for talks and whitepapers. Large, calm, one idea each.

Technical

Axonometric system diagrams. Ink line on bone, slate for structure, First Light for the active node only.

Architecture

Perimeter-first. The boundary is always drawn; data is shown never leaving it.

Data

Restrained charts where the single inflection — the moment of foresight — is the only coloured mark.

09 · Photography Direction

Precision, light, and made things.

Photography is documentary and architectural, never staged stock. Engineering environments, real hardware, considered portraits. One directional light source — the first light — reaching across surface and form.

Hardware & semiconductors · raking low light
Infrastructure · cool, ordered, deep depth of field
People & engineering · warm key, honest, unposed
Subjects
Engineers at real work, factory floors, semiconductors and embedded hardware, server and lab infrastructure, considered meetings. Never generic office stock.
Lighting
One dominant directional source. Hard enough to model edges, warm enough to feel human. Light always arrives from one side — the first light.
Colour grade
Cool, low-saturation base — ink, slate, graphite — with a single warm highlight permitted to echo First Light. No teal-orange, no HDR.
Composition
Architectural framing, generous negative space, rigorous horizontals. The subject often sits off-centre on the diagonal.
Cropping
Confident, edge-to-edge. Full-bleed on dark grounds. A single image per view, never a collage.
Treatment
Cool ground, one warm light, deep space.
Grading reference · the single warm source
10 · Motion Identity

The light arrives. Nothing else moves.

Motion is reserved and intentional. The signature gesture is the first light appearing on a still circle — anticipation, not animation. Calm easing, generous timing, no bounce.

Animated logo · ring draws, then first light blooms
Loading · the point of light travels the perimeter
Principle

Arrival

Things appear and settle. They never bounce, spin gratuitously or attract attention to the motion itself.

Timing

Unhurried

UI transitions 180–240ms. Brand moments 0.9–1.4s. Long enough to feel considered.

Easing

Calm out

cubic-bezier(0.16, 1, 0.3, 1). Fast to begin, soft to rest. The same curve everywhere.

Video

Intro / outro

Black field, ring draws, light arrives, wordmark fades up. Outro: light contracts to a single point.

11 · Product Design Language

An interface that anticipates.

The product is where the brand is proven daily. Dense, legible, calm. Slate and ink carry the data; First Light marks the one signal a human needs to act on now.

18 · Accessibility

Calm is also inclusive.

The restraint that makes the brand premium also makes it accessible. High contrast, generous type, motion that yields, and meaning that never depends on colour alone.

Contrast
Body text meets WCAG AA minimum (4.5:1); primary pairings reach AAA. First Light is never used for body text on light grounds.
Type sizes

Motion reduction
All brand and UI motion respects prefers-reduced-motion. The light arrives instantly instead of animating; loaders become static.
Colour independence

Developer handoff

Tokens ship as JSON, CSS custom properties and a Tailwind preset. Designers and engineers reference the same names; the brand cannot drift in translation.

Component principles

Quiet by default. Accessible by construction. One accent, used once. Density without clutter. Motion that yields.

Governance hooks

Versioned releases, a changelog, and a contribution path. New patterns are reviewed against this manual before they enter the library.

20 · Brand Guidelines

The rules that keep it inevitable.

A brand this restrained is protected by discipline, not volume. A few clear rules, held without exception, keep every surface saying the same disciplined thing.

Do & Don't
Do · use the mark exactly
Don't · recolour first light

22 · Brand Voice

The way Qeino sounds is part of the mark.

Qeino sells to people who detect hype instantly and distrust it on sight. The voice wins respect by saying less, more precisely — and never claiming what it cannot prove. It is the verbal half of the same restraint the logo holds.

The writing standard

Any writer — human or AI — should produce words that are unmistakably Qeino: intelligent, understated, sophisticated, calm, technical, executive and evidence-based.

The first signal, before everyone else sees it.
Brand personality · the best engineer in the room
01

Certain

Takes positions, not menus. Certainty comes from evidence, never from volume.

02

Precise

Every word chosen. The exact term over the impressive one; the specific figure over the round claim.

03

Understated

Restraint is the luxury signal. Let the substance speak; trust the reader to notice.

04

Technically literate

Speaks the buyer's language natively — architecture, critical path, residency, attestation.

05

Calm

No urgency theatre, no exclamation. The steady voice in a noisy market.

06

Honest

Candid about what is moat, what is parity, what is instrument. Names the limits of its own claims.

07

Executive

Respects the reader's time and seniority. Leads with the conclusion; never pads.

Voice principles
Clarity over cleverness

Say the thing. A clever line that obscures the meaning is a failure.

Precision over exaggeration

Specifics earn trust; superlatives spend it.

Evidence over claims

A figure a CFO has signed is worth more than any adjective.

Confidence without arrogance

State the position; respect the reader. Confidence is quiet.

Simplicity over complexity

Plain words for hard ideas. A complex subject is no licence for complex prose.

Substance before style

The point first, the polish second. If it sounds good but says little, cut it.

Authority through expertise

Earn belief by showing you have sat in the buyer's chair.

The voice is constant. Only the emphasis shifts by reader.

Tone by audience · same voice, shifted emphasis

milestones held · days saved · recovered capacity · sovereign · on-premises · air-gapped · inside your perimeter · by architecture · read-access · residency · attestation · auditable · CFO-signed · foresight · before delivery slips · the late-knowledge gap · critical path · the first light · measured, not asserted.

Acceptable · right register only

Capability words — agentic, AI engine, autonomous, intervention, model — documentation and live demo only; never a hero, headline or deck title. Category terms where precise: SEIP, engineering operations, programme management. Technical terms: signal, baseline, telemetry (only to say none leaves the perimeter).

Never · banned

Hype — revolutionary, cutting-edge, seamless, game-changing, world-class, leverage, supercharge. Horizontal surrenders — teams of any size, general business, workflow orchestration. Surveillance framing — see what your engineers are doing. Unconditional free trial. Exclamation marks.

Messaging hierarchy · sacrificed last-first
1Deployment — the moat. Said first, always.
2Foresight — the story. One line beneath, always.
3The Foresight Ledger — the proof.
4Category & evidence — the context.

When space, attention or time is limited, the higher number is said first and the lower number is sacrificed last. It does not change.

Brand narrative · the elevator pitch
